Surigao del Norte-  Affected individuals and families of tropical depression Vicky from several municipalities in Surigao del Norte received assistance thru the DOLE’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program.

DOLE-Surigao del Norte Provincial Office (DOLE SDNPO) and other national line agencies in Surigao del Norte participated in the simultaneous released of assistance for the affected families of the typhoon Vicky in the municipalities of Malimono, Bacuag, Sison, and Surigao City on February 25-26, 2021. A total of 2,475 typhoon victims were provided emergency employment thru TUPAD.

The activity was spearheaded by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the team of Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” T. Go. Aside from the Php 3,000.00 cash and relief goods, raffle draws were also given with prizes like mountain bikes and electronic gadgets.  Programs and services of the respective participating national line agencies were also presented. DOLE SDN particularly highlighted the programs for the informal sector including TUPAD and the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP).

DOLE Caraga, as part of its commitment for public service, actively participates in the programs of the government to aid individuals and families especially those from the informal sector who are affected by calamities, insurgencies, and the like.
