Province of Dinagat Islands – Two hundred ninety-seven (297) beneficiaries from fourteen (14) different barangays of the Municipality of Cagdianao, Province of Dinagat Islands identified as either displaced or seasonal workers including drug surrenders, received, assistance through the Emergency Employment Program (EEP) last February 14. Each received P4,575.00 worth of salaries for work done.

On November 19, 2018, the Local Government Unit of Cagdianao, Province of Dinagat Islands entered a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with DOLE Caraga for the Emergency Employment Program (EEP) amounting to P1,358,775.00.

These Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program beneficiaries rendered work services from November 26 to December 12, 2018 with ranging from manual digging and cleaning of canals to the clearing of barangay roads and riversides for 12 days.

One of the beneficiaries said, “Dako ini na tabang para sa amo mga pamilya ma’am/sir, salamat kaayo”.

DOLE-PDI Satellite Office once again successfully assisted the Municipality of Cagdianao in the implementation of the Emergency Employment Program (EEP) or the TUPAD Program. This program enables the unemployed poor and seasonal workers to engage in short-term community works to provide them with temporary wage employment.
