Surigao del Norte – The LGU-Claver, Surigao del Norte conducted the two-day Pre-Employment Orientation Seminar, Career Coaching, Guidance Counseling and Job Fair with the coordination of PESO Manager, Mr. Junrey Escobal together with DSWD, PNP, DOLE-SDNPO, ECC, POEA, OWWA, other participating overseas recruitment agencies and local establishments/companies in the vicinity of Claver and Butuan City last February 23-24, 2017.

The first day of the activity is intended for Pre-Employment Orientation Seminar, Career Coaching and Guidance Counseling and the Basic Rights of Workers (General Labor Standards) with 75 attendees. The following personnel from different offices handled the topics as Speakers for the first day activity: Ms. Meriam R. Balmocena (POEA), Ms. Genevieve Elorde (ECC), SPO1 Judith Paqueo (PNP), Ms. Irene Cambaling (OWWA), Ms. Felibeth C. Bonono (Career Coaching & Guidance Counseling & LMI) and Ms. Nida A. Baybay (Basic Rights of Workers).

During the 2nd day activity which was held at LGU-Claver Building, the Job Fair is open to all applicants for overseas and local employment. 11,956 for overseas employment, 470 for local employment totaling to 12,426 job orders. 278 registered job seekers were present—4 were hired on-the-spot by some local establishments, while 10 were guaranteed with overseas job.

The convergence actions of the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-SDN), and the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), reported that the Job Fair had been participated by 18 employers, 11 of which were local, while seven (7) were overseas.
