On June 7, 2022, the Department of Labor and Employment Caraga (DOLE Caraga) forged a partnership with three Department of Health Caraga Accredited Testing Centers to administer free COVID-19 testing to newly hired jobseekers.
DOLE Caraga Regional Director Joffrey M. Suyao signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on the implementation of Department Order No. 233, S. 2022 with Manual J. Santos Hospital, Adella Sierra Ty Memorial Medical Center, and Caraga Regional Hospital. The MOA signing was witnessed by MJ Santos Hospital Compliance Officer Daniel Nemesis C. Espina, Adella Sierra Ty Memorial Medical Chief Medical Technologist Agustina D. Tare and Caraga Regional Hospital Supervising Administrative Officer Dr. Delfin M. Antallan.
RD Suyao expressed his gratitude to the partnership formed with the said testing centers. In a statement he said, “I hope that through the collaboration of DOLE Caraga and its partners in implementing D.O. No. 233, S. 2022 we can ensure healthy newly hired jobseekers as they enter the world of work.”
D.O. No. 233, S. 2022 aims to provide a one-time grant of free COVID-19 testing for qualified newly hired jobseekers required to secure a negative RT-PCR result among the pre-employment requirements. Beneficiaries include newly hired jobseekers in private domestic establishments, agency-hired overseas workers set for deployment, and newly appointed employees in any branch or instrumentality of the government. The program shall cover jobseekers hired after the effectivity of the said order and jobseekers employed beginning February 1, 2022, who are yet to assume position due to lack of negative RT-PCR test result.
Interested applicants may submit the following requirements to the nearest DOLE Caraga field office for pre-evaluation: photocopy of any valid government-issued ID, duly accomplished subsidy application form, and certificate of engagement, acceptance, or appointment.
