DOLE Surigao del Norte conducted Livelihood Orientation on January 6, 2021 under DILEEP (DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program) in cooperation with 30th Infantry (Python) Battalion for the community of Brgy. Camboayon, Gigaquit, Surigao del Norte.

The Community Support Program (CSP), formerly known as BTA (Bayanihan Team Activity) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines aims to transform areas into peaceful and conflict resilient communities by facilitating the delivery of the government services under the Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC).

Part of the AFP Campaign Plan DSSP “Kapayapaan” and implementation of the NTF-ELCAC activities, DOLE Surigao is privileged to be its partner together with other agencies namely TESDA, Department of Agriculture, and Department of Agrarian Reform.  DSSP stands for Development Support and Security Plan.

The aforementioned agencies shared their program as to the needs of the community in promoting and implementing the different livelihood programs which is very essential for the community of Brgy. Camboayon relative to the assessment survey conducted by the CSP team.  Survey results showed that the significant concern’s of the said community is unemployment and lack of sustainable livelihood projects and programs for them to support their daily needs.

The Department of Labor and Employment, as part of the PRLEC, will continue to implement livelihood programs and services to ensure capacity building for those affected areas of armed conflicts and to capacitate as many affected individuals as possible support the national endeavor of promoting sustainable peace.
