With the theme “Matatag na Mangagawa, Matatag na Bansa”, the Department of Labor and Employment Caraga leads the conduct of the Labor Day Livelihood Job Fair (Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan) on May 1, 2022 at the Robinsons Place Butuan with at least 3,000 jobs up for grabs.
Of the 3,000 vacancies available, 916 are for local employment and 2,084 are for overseas.
38 employers confirmed joining the event with 23 local employers and 15 overseas. For local employment, the top five job offers are Sales Associates, Service Drivers, Dump Truck Drivers, Production Staff, Masons (Construction), and Skilled Works (Construction).
Moreover, as part of the Labor Day celebration, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will conduct a Diskwento Caravan where reasonably-priced quality products are sold. The DTI will also showcase the goods produced by its assisted livelihood beneficiaries. Likewise, DOLE Caraga’s Kabuhayan products from its Livelihood Projects will be on display during the occasion. These products are Manapa Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Community Cooperative’s (MARBCC) Lumpia, Juvelyn’s Chicharon & Ivy Flores’ Alamang.
The following government agencies will offer services for the jobseekers: Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Social Security System (SSS), Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF) Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) for scholarships, training, and other TESDA-related services.
To kick off the 2022 Labor Day celebration, DOLE Caraga will hold a Pre-Labor Day Press Conference at Hall C, Dottie’s Place Hotel on April 27, 2022 at 2:00 PM. The Press Conference will be attended by representatives from DOLE attached agencies Regional Coordinating Committee (DOLE-RCC) – National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC), National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPB), Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC), Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC) and National Reintegration Center for OFWs (NRCO).
The Philippine Information Agency will be facilitating the press conference with at least 25 media partners.
