Talacogon, Agusan del Sur – Brimming with joy and pride, Jennifer S. Mizo is among the one thousand graduates of the Saint Francis Xavier College (SFXC) completing the Bachelor of Science in Accounting Technology course.
Her story through her own letter to DOLE: “My Parents always tell us to study hard, as education is the only thing that they can impart to us because they know that education is hope. It can bring our goals and dreams to life.
I am Jennifer E. Mizo born on February 3,1996 who came from a humble community in Zillovia Talacogon in Agusan del Sur. I admit we don’t have much, both of my parents didn’t go to college, sometimes my father gets insulted because of his educational background, that’s why I motivated myself to get a degree. I know sending a child to college is a huge challenge because of all the fees and endless requirements, not to mention the food, transportation, books and boarding. My father works so hard so I could finish college. Until, a generous person recommended me to become a scholar of DOLE-WODP since my father was a member of SPFL PTFI Union. I was given a full scholarship with P3,000 monthly allowance. This opportunity gave me the chance to study and finish college.
I took Bachelor of Science in Accounting Technology at St. Francis Xavier College. There were struggles along the way but with perseverance and determination, I finally graduated with this scholarship.
With the help of the WODP Scholarship, I was able to further increase my chances of succeeding in life. In behalf of my family, we thank DOLE for the generosity and opportunity to achieve my life goal. DOLE will always be part of all my life success.”
