Surigao del Sur- The Department of Labor and Employment, Surigao del Sur Provincial Office
(DOLE- SDNPO) settled the unpaid Overtime (OT) of a resigned fuel station employee thru the
Single Entry Approach (SEnA) program.
Ailen Guibejar, who worked as a cashier for two (2) years in a fuel station company in Cantilan, Surigao del Sur filed a Request for Assistance (RFA) to DOLE SDS for the release of the payment of her rendered OT work for the period April 2019 to February 2020. A virtual SENA conference via ZOOM was faciliated on August 26, 2020, and the management of the fuel station agreed to pay the amount of Php 13,200.00 for the 330 hours unpaid OT of the complainant.
Other labor concerns were also discussed during conference including underpayment of wages of the pump crew and non-remittance of statutory benefits (SSS, PHIC, HDMF) among others. The management committed to comply the labor requirements on the agreed timeline.
SEnA is a reformed measure institutionalized by DOLE to provide fast, impartial, inexpensive and accessible settlement procedure of all labor issues or conflicts to avoid them from ripening into a full-blown disputes. In order to continue to faciliate the program amidts the COVID-19 pandemic, DOLE adapts online facilitation of labor complaints which include virtual meetings and conferences.
