Butuan City – The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board XIII in partnership with the DOLE Caraga Regional Office successfully conducted the Productivity Awareness Program for self-employed beneficiaries of the Mission Race program implemented in the city last CY 2021.

Representing DOLE Caraga during the Productivity Awareness Orientation was Mr. Daniel L. Cultura, NERS Program Coordinator, Ms. Monna Lyra Albia, LEO II of DOLE Field Office-SDS and representing RTWPB Caraga were Mr. Earl D. Dela Victoria- Board Secretary VI, Mr. Cornelius B. Mahinay- Supervising LEO, and Ms. Sara Mae C. Dahuyla -Administrative Assistant I

In his welcome message, PESO Manager Mr. Lamberto Plarisan Jr. recognized RTWPB 13 and DOLE Caraga for conducting an activity that will greatly aid the self-employed individuals who wants to become entrepreneurs. “We are thankful to RTWPB 13 and DOLE CARAGA for this intervention that they have given our municipality specifically to the self-employed individuals profiled thru Mission Race Program. This orientation on Productivity Awareness would surely help the self-employed individuals in becoming successful entrepreneurs,” he added.

Supervising Labor and Employment Officer Cornelius Mahinay discussed the relevance of the productivity toolbox in the business environment in the locality. He emphasized that each self-employed individuals should aspire to be successful entrepreneurs for the improvement of the individual’s personal standing and their community as well. Mr. Mahinay shared the functions of RTWPB and the productivity programs and services offered by the Board to both Micro Small Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and workers.

Board Secretary Earl D. Dela Victoria gave a lecture on Productivity 101, which is a basic orientation on productivity concepts, measures, tools, and techniques. The discussion centered on Productivity Measures, Benefits of Productivity, Productivity Tools and Techniques and Productivity Incentive schemes. Dela Victoria emphasized that productivity improvement is a shared goal and responsibility of both workers and enterprises to foster and strengthen good workplace relations and increase productivity.

Moreover, Labor and Employment Officer II Monna Lyra Albia discussed the programs services offered by DOLE for the participants to avail.

The orientation was given to LGU Tandag City as part of the intervention of the partner agencies of DOLE for the beneficiaries profiled under the Mission Race Program. The target beneficiaries of the program are Local Government Units in Caraga that has an established Barangay Employment Service Offices (BESOs).
