He added that he is hopeful that all the participants would share the possible learnings from the activity.

Ms. Romelyn B. Bactol, Senior LEO of DOLE-SDN, discussed the following topics: Program Overview: NSRP Phase II (2017-2022), Updates on PhilJobnet, PhilJobnet—Employer’s Module during the morning session while PhilJobnet—Jobseeker’s Module was discussed during the afternoon session and the Briefing on the Philippine Talent Map Initiative (PTMI). Program Overview: NSRP Phase II (2017-2022) and Updates on PhilJobnet.

During the morning session, “PhilJobnet – Employer’s Module” was discussed by SDNFO NSRP Coordinator, Ms. Pauline Grace C. Gloria. She tackled about the benefits of having a PhilJobnet account as an employer, the different PhilJobnet features, the freebies using Philjobnet and necessary payments, and etc. On the afternoon session, she discussed and presented to the Senior High Students the Philippine Talent Map Initiative (PTMI), the benefits one could get after taking the assessment.

Ms. Karin Louise Q. Nietes, NSRP Regional Coordinator discussed the PTMI Briefing. She emphasizes the 21st century skills that can be found at the PTMI Assessment, how this program would help an individual know his strengths and weaknesses. She also discussed the PhilJobnet – Jobseeker’s Module on the afternoon session.

A total of 59 participants from different establishments of PDI and SDN, were able to participate in the morning activity while a total of 197 participants (students from SEC, SPUS and CRSHS and Senior High Advisers) participated the afternoon session.

Participants were eager to learn and have had different queries asked by the employers and students. Meanwhile, one of the Senior High students is worried of the fact that he might get a failure grade but it was explained properly by Ms. Olga Virginia A. Demata, Information Systems Analyst II that, “The assessment is just a way of knowing an individual’s strength and weak skills. Getting a low score or mark won’t affect the student’s standing at school; it would just help the student to assess their different abilities and the skills they need to improve.”

Philippine Talent Map Initiative Assessment happened last October 9, 2017 to the Senior High Students of Surigao Education Center (SEC). The senior high students were excited and thrilled after knowing that they can easily access the assessment results right after finishing an exam. Some students wondered why they got low marks while others were silently answering it honestly and seriously. Periods of bad internet connection was was identified as a difficulty in taking the assessment at the office. Nevertheless, the students still flashed their genuine smiles and appreciation after the PTMI Assessment.
