Twenty-five (25) active regular members of the Caraga Regional Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (CRTIPC) convene for the orientation on DOLE D.O 143 and Expanded Maternity Law and the signing of Industry Tripartite Council (ITC) resolutions and Voluntary Code of Good Practices (VCGP) last September 4, 2019 at Almont Inland Resort, Butuan City.
“We intend to have a common understanding on the Expanded Maternity Law and to become well-informed of other labor laws”, said Atty. Rechelle B. Apao, Mediator-Arbiter of DOLE CARAGA during her welcome remarks. She added that the gathering serves as a preventive mechanism in dealing with conflicts between management and labor. She also reminded the body that the main purpose of the activity is the attainment of industrial peace.
The activity highlighted the signing of two resolutions from the CRPITC: Resolution No. 001 series of 2019 titled, “A resolution strengthening the Caraga Regional Tripartite Monitoring Body (RTMB): and Resolution No. 002 series of 2019 titled, “A resolution requesting the Occupational Safety and Health Center Caraga to provide free Safety Officer 1 training to new and financially distressed establishments annually starting by the year 2020”
The ITC has played a crucial role in maintaining industrial peace in the region. It has been the department’s partner in fostering a culture of voluntary compliance with labor laws among various companies in the region.
