The Department of Labor and Employment Province of Dinagat Islands successfully conducted the first DOLE Clinic on June 15-16, 2017 in partnership with LGU-Loreto.
This two-day activity was participated by various disadvantaged, displaced, would-be displaced workers and managements in mining industries operating in the areas of Tubajon and Loreto. DOLE Caraga facilitated the event and was headed by the Assistant Regional Director Naomi Lyn C. Abellana, TSSD Chief Mr. Herminigildo L. Daytoc, Labor Laws Compliance Officer Ms. Lovely Laudette D. Gamba and representatives from ECC, NCMB, OWWA and POEA.
The activity involved 49 establishments from various mining industries, people’s organizations, government offices and business establishments, students, municipal and barangay officials.
Included in the DOLE Clinic was the conduct of Orientation on DOLE Department Order 174 and Project Proposal Writeshop took place in order to strengthen submission of proposals from people’s organization desiring to obtain livelihood interventions from the Department. Also, TUPAD Orientation to profiled disadvantaged/mining displaced workers.
PESO Meeting and Advocacy Orientation Against Child Labor were also conducted to more than two hundred thirty-eight (238) Senior High Schools students from Loreto National High School and Loreto Academy pursuant to the 2017 Universal Celebration of World Against Child Labor.
This activity brings the entire DOLE-Regional Coordinating Committee programs to the grassroots level to serve the members of the far flung communities and to various sectors that do not have the convenience and means to grasp the services of the committee.©kav
