Anchored on the theme “Pagsuong sa Hamon ng Panibagong Bukas,” the Department of Labor and Employment Caraga joins the 2022 Independence Day Celebration through TNK (Trabaho, Negosyo and Kabuhayan) Fair on June 12, 2022 at Robinsons Place Butuan.

Over 14,000 vacancies from 53 employers are open to aspiring job seekers. 1, 259 local vacancies from 48 employers are up for grabs, while 13, 194 overseas jobs are offered from 7 recruitment agencies. Top local vacancies are bus conductors, bus drivers, production workers, field collectors, and service drivers. Meanwhile, nurses, caregivers, construction workers, housekeepers, and drivers have the highest number of vacancies overseas.

1st-time jobseekers hired on the spot will receive an RT-PCR Coupon which can be used at any of the following Department of Health accredited testing centers: Manuel J. Santos Hospital, Butuan City, Caraga Regional Hospital, Surigao del Norte and Adela Sierra Ty Memorial Medical Center, Surigao del Sur.

A DOLE Livelihood (Kabuhayan) help desk showcasing livelihood promotional videos and distributing IEC materials will also be at the fair.  In addition, the following government agencies will place their One-Stop Shops for job seekers during the event: Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Department of Tourism (DoT), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) for scholarships, training, and other TESDA-related services.

Moreover, in support of the event, representatives from DOLE attached agencies Regional Coordinating Committee (DOLE-RCC) – National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC), Regional Conciliation and Mediation Board (RCMB), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration – National Reintegration Center for OFWs (OWWA-NRCO), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPB), Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC), and Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC) will be joining the event.

To kick off the 2022 Kalayaan TNK Fair, the DOLE and the Regional Tripartite Wages Productivity Board conducted a Press Conference last June 7, 2022, to inform the public on the TNK fair and other Kalayaan 2022 related activities all over the region, as well as announce the effectivity of the new minimum wage rate in Caraga. 

Effective June 6, 2022, the new minimum wage of workers in the private sector in Butuan City, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur and Surigao del Sur is now at P350.00. In the province of Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte and Siargao Islands, the new minimum of P350.00 shall be implemented in 2 tranches. A P20.00 increase shall take effect on June 6, 2022, and another P10.00 additional increase shall take effect on September 1, 2022.
