Bislig City, Surigao del Sur –The Department of Labor and Employment Caraga Region awards 3.5 Million Bottom Up Budgetting (BUB) funds to 355 beneficiaries of Bislig City for the seven (7) projects last March 27, 2017 during the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony conducted at Bislig City Gymnasium.

DOLE-Caraga Assistant Regional Director Atty. Evelyn R. Ramos emphasized that Bislig City is the first recipient of this huge amount of livelihood funds released this year. “We at DOLE will facilitate and create jobs through provision of livelihood assistance and our only request to the LGU is to closely monitor the project, because no matter how much funds we release, if the project will not be handled and monitored properly, it will gone. But if these project will progress, we are willing to give more for the enhancement of these projects”, she added.

“Thank you very much to DOLE-Caraga for the 3.5 Million worth of livelihood funds. We commit to closely monitor the project implementation”, said Mayor Librado C. Navarro.

The seven projects that will be given 500,000 each are the (1) Computer Training Center for the 100 out of school youths of Bislig; (2) NEGOKART project for 28 Bislig City Baywalk Vendors Association; (3) Grocery with Botica for the 38 OFW; (4) Mini grocery for the 40 member of Federation of Bislig City Women’s Association (FOBWA); (5) Water refilling station for the 44 members of Parents Mobilization Action Group (PMAG); (6) Tricykad and tricycle spare parts and vulcanizing project for the 49 members of Mangagoy ERPAT Tricycle Operators and Driver Association; and (7) Coco-fiber coir production (twining  and weaving machine) for the 56 members of San Isidro Kauswagan Producers Cooperative (SIKAPCO).

After the ceremonial turn-over, Mayor Navarro awards a Certificate of Appreciation to DOLE Caraga for the recognizing the effort of its personnel for the service rendered for the Bislig City BUB programs to alleviate poverty and empower Civil Society Organization (CSO).
