Agusan del Sur— The Department of Labor and Employment- Agusan del Sur (DOLE-ADS) Provincial Office participated the 1st Provincial Business Conference at Mabes Hotel and Convention Center, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur on November 8.

The event was organized by the Agusan del Sur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADSCCI) to gather members of the different sectors of the society such as entrepreneurs, regional association representatives, Multipurpose cooperative representatives, and students.

“It is a felt need for us to conduct this business conference in order to be at par at the current trends in our society in terms of labor, taxation, and business. This province [Agusan del Sur], has a lot of potential for business,” Rev. Solomon B. Bilaoen, member of the board of trustees of ADSCCI said during his opening remarks.

The DOLE-ADS Provincial Office Head, Jocelyn L. Bastareche discussed topics on wage law, the benefits and rights of an employee, and RA 11058 or the Occupational Safety and Health Standards law. The participants, especially the entrepreneurs, pointed-out their queries to the speaker during the open forum.

The 1st Provincial Business Conference aims to provide awareness to the business sectors and other sectors interested in business in Agusan del Sur, as to the new laws concerning business as well as for the participants to showcase their products.
