DOLE Agusan del Norte released a total of Php 2.8 million post-COVID19 livelihood grants to three (3) workers organization in Butuan City through the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP).
Rice Milling projects were awarded to Pinamanculan-Dalingdingan Irrigators Association in Butuan City and Rosario Samahang Nayon MPC in Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte, respectively, while a Water Refilling project was given to Bangayan Lakeview Association in Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte. The said projects were all supported by their respective Barangay Local Governments Units (BLGUs), Municipal Public Employment Service Offices (PESO) and the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).
Three hundred eight (308) farmers and agrarian reforms beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the government’s multi-faceted intervention considering that the relief goods and cash aids they received from the other government agencies merely address their immediate and short term needs. These livelihood projects would serve as a long-term alternative source of income. (The people of Bangayan and members of Lakeview Association are thankful for the livelihood assistance provided by DOLE amidst the difficulties brought about by COVID. The livelihood is a big help for the community and we will make sure that this will prosper).
The Post-Covid livelihood program of DOLE through DILP serves as an alternative source of income that seeks to contribute to poverty reduction for the vulnerable and marginalized workers greatly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
