DOLE Agusan del Norte released a total of Php 622,000.00 livelihood projects to a displaced “kasambahay” and a senior citizen association in Agusan del Norte thru the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP).

Php 20,000.00 worth of materials and equipment for a small carenderia business was released to Ms. Jocelyn Anobling on June 17, 2020. Ms. Anobling was displaced house helper in Butuan City during the time of community quarantine due to Covid-19.

The financial assistance of Phph 602,000.00 for the water refilling station project was awarded to BLGU of Brgy. 5, Nasipit, Agusan del Norte benefitting 95 member of the Senior Citizen Association for Mutual Assistance (SECAMA) on July 13, 2020. DOLE ADN Provincial Head Mr. Keith C. Duran, in his message during the turnover ceremony, highlighted the role of the BLGU as Accredited Co-Partner (ACP) of the project and encouraged the beneficiaries to sustain the government assistance as an income generating project especially during this time of the Covid-19 crisis. The beneficiaries were grateful and from the words of the SECAMA President Mr. Jemeclito Rudela, “Daku kaayo among pasalamat sa DOLE sa paghatag sa amu niining proyekto tungod kay dugay na namo kini gipangandoy. Kindi dako kaayo nga tabang dili lang sa mga membro sa asusasyon kun dili sa tibook katawhan sa Brgy. 5.” (We are greatly thankful to DOLE for the water refilling station project since we’ve been dreaming for this and now it is granted. This livelihood assistance will not only help the members of the association but the entire community of Brgy. 5).

The livelihood program of DOLE through DILP serves as an alternative source of income that seeks to contribute to poverty reduction for the vulnerable and marginalized Filipinos, currently prioritizing those greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
