The DOLE Agusan del Norte Field Office has recently conducted an Industry-wide Joint Assessment thru zonal approach on August 17, 2017 in Cabadbaran People’s Hall, Cabadbaran City. This event was done in pursuant to DOLE Assessment Order No. 404 series of 2014, as one of the five assessment modalities prescribed to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of implementation of the new Labor Laws Compliance System.

The program started with the acknowledgement of the 204 participants representing almost 100 establishments coming from different industries namely; wholesale and retail, contractors, financial intermediaries, food and beverages and hotel and restaurants.

Agusan del Norte Field Office Head, Ms. Jocelyn L. Bastareche, gave her warm welcome to our participants and then discussed the activity rationale.

The first lecturer was Mr. Arnheim Ravelo who updated the employees with the Basic General Labor Standards (GLS) as mandated by law and discussed other related labor laws such as Solo Parents and Magnacarta Leave & Violence against Women and Children leaves. The second speaker who tackled Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) was Mr. Salvador Galado and Ms. Lovely Laudette Gamba lastly lectured about Labor Laws Compliance System (LLCS) & Methods of Assessment.

The morning program was concluded by Mr. Earl dela Victoria of the Regional Wage and Productivity Board, appraising the participants on an overview of their productivity programs and services.

While during the afternoon session, the Labor Laws Compliance Officers were able to assess a total of 87 establishments. ©DOLEADNFO
