Surigao del Norte – Forty four (44) beneficiaries from Barangay Camam-onan signed the Memorandum of Agreement for the individual livelihood program of DOLE-SDN during the launching of Camam-onan Agripreneur Community Enterprise Village on July 29, 2020 at Barangay Camam-onan covered court, Gigaquit, Surigao del Norte. The 44 beneficiaries proposed for individual hog raising project to DOLE which include procurement of piglets and feeds.

The Camam-onan Agripreneur Community Enterprise Village is a proposed project spearheaded by TESDA-SDN, the lead agency of the Provincial Poverty Reduction Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC). DOLE-SDN as key member agency of the PRLEC committed its livelihood and emergency employment (DILEEP) program for the full operationalization of this initiative. During the ceremony, TESDA Regional Director Ashary A. Banto, congratulated the task force agencies and emphasized that the program is beneficial for the poverty reduction in the community.  He also announced that this launching of E.O 70 is the first in the entire Caraga for the year 2020.  Hon. Chandru T. Bonite, Municipal Mayor of Gigaquit, in his message, also reminded the beneficiaries that the skills acquired thru this program will be a lifetime tool to fight poverty.

DOLE-SDN headed by Ms. May C. Velonta launched other DOLE poverty reduction programs together with several government agencies which also showcased their intervention to the informal sector workers of Gigaquit and their contribution to the establishment of the agripreneurial enterprise.
