Cagdianao Mining Corporation (CMC) conducted Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) Training for its employees facilitated by DOLE PDI.  The training was held at CMC Conference Hall, Valencia, Cagdianao, Province of Dinagat Island on November 18, 2019.

The training mainly discussed the new guidelines of Department Order 198-18 Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of Republic Act No. 11058, which is “An Act Strengthening Compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Standards and Providing for Violations hereof.”

Salient features of the IRR were explained including its coverage, the duties and rights of the employer and workers, workplace classification based on risks, components of the Occupational Safety and Health Committee and penalty matrix for the prohibited acts.

As part of being a responsible mining company, CMC wanted to ensure that its management and key employees are aware of the regulatory requirements in occupational safety and health. More so, to ensure that the company is compliant to the mandated regulations to achieved a safe and healthy working environment.

We were also surprised on the penalties to pair on the daily basis and we thanked DOLE for always reminding us the things needed to be complied.”
