Two (2) associations in Cagdianao, Province of Dinagat Islands (PDI) received their livelihood grants from the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) with a total of eight hundred thirty-two thousand and thirty pesos (Php) 832,030.00) thru their Accredited Co-Partner Municipal Local Government Unit (MLGU) Cagdianao.

An initial input of one hundred and fourteen (11) lobster fingerlings was turned-over to R. Ecleo Farmers and Fisherfolks Association (REFFA) facilitated by DOLE PDISO on September 17, 2020. They were assisted by the LGU Cagdiano PESO Manager Ms. Salome M. Pegoro, Municipal Agriculturist Ms. Lucena B. Longos, Municipal Aquaculturist Ms. Sufenia Chua, Barangay Kagawad Hon. Jonathan Manatad, and the Local Inspection Team. REFFA was granted five hundred thousand pesos (Php 500,000.00) by DOLE for their Lobster Production project.

In the afternoon of the same day, Barangay San Jose Farmers and Fisherfolks Association (BSJFFA) received three (3) engines, eight (8) ice boxes and various fishing tools like fishing nets and nylon string for their Deep-Sea Fishing project. A total of three hundred thirty-two thousand and thirty pesos (Php 332,030.00) was granted by DOLE to BSJFFA for the said livelihood.

Both REFFA and BSJFFA were grateful for the livelihood grant:

Amo ni paningkamotan nga mudako ni among banagan kay para mapalambo namu ni among kabuhayan.” (We are happy that what we’ve been waiting for is finally here. “Nagpasalamat kami sa DOLE ug sa LGU kay nahatagan kami ng ayuda sa gobyerno. Dako ang among kalipay na ang gobyerno naga tagad sa among kinihanglan. So, parte sa pag-atiman sa inyong paghatag di sab namu pakyason ang inyong hangyo nga among atimanon. Kay malipayon kami na mag-atiman nan hinatag kaysa pinalit namo, ampingan gayud namu ini.” (We are thankful to DOLE and to the LGU for the assistance. As of this writing, REFFA already received an additional sixty-five (65) lobster fingerlings, but are still to receive three hundred and twenty-one (321) lobster fingerlings. BSJFFFA, on the other hand, is still waiting for an additional two (2) pump boats.
