July 13, 2017—After the recently conducted Labor Management Education on Employment Relations Seminar last June, another same activity and the formation of Siargao Tripartite Industrial Peace Council was then held at Women Center, Brgy. 6, Poblacion, Dapa, Surigao del Norte.
Hon. Peter P. Ruaya, Municipal Mayor of Dapa shared his warm and practical message to all the participants. The discussed topic were the following: Labor Law Compliance System (LLCS), General Labor Standards, Productivity, Kasambahay Law (RA 10361) Registration of Establishment (Rule 1020) and Tripartism.
The speakers of the aforementioned seminar were Regional Tripartite Wages Productivity Board (RTWPB) Attorney IV, Atty. Cornelius B. Mahinay, Public Employment Services Office (PESO) Managers from different municipalities of Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte.
In attendance were 66 participants coming from different establishments and PESO Managers in Siargao Island. Election of officers for Siargao Tripartite Industrial Peace Council immediately followed. The formation of a Tripartite Industrial Peace Council is one of the targets of Surigao del Norte Field Office as conduit in a forum for consultation and discussions among the social partners where they can generate consensus on issues and problems pertaining to employment.
One of the participants commented, “Labor Management Education on Employment Relations Seminar and creating Siargao Tripartite Industrial Peace Council is useful and is an educational activity that helps awareness about the employment rules and regulations to the employees and do hope that the newly elected STIPC officers will be an effective and approachable leaders.”
