As of April 2020, a total of 4, 340 Surigaonons from the provinces of Surigao del Norte and Surigao del Sur received their salary from Tulong Pangkabuhayan para sa Displaced/Disadvantaged (TUPAD) Workers #BarangayKoBahayKo (#BKBK) Program.

DOLE Surigao del Norte Provincial Office released the salaries of 3,121 beneficiaries amounting to Php 10, 037,120.00 on May 4, 2020 in cooperation with the LGUs and PESOs in the province. It is noteworthy that 150 out the covered beneficiaries were Indigenous People (IPs) from LGU Malimono.

DOLE Surigao del Sur released a total of Php 3,900,800.00 covering 1,219 beneficiaries with individual pay of Php 3,200.00.

TUPAD #BKBK is one of the programs of the government facilitated by DOLE to aid the informal sector workers who are affected by the current pandemic COVID-19. The beneficiaries are required to work four (4) hours a day for 10 days performing disinfection/ sanitation in their houses and immediate vicinity within the barangay.
