Various establishments in Surigao City engaging on manufacturing, production, and services underwent a Lean Management Seminar on August 7, 2019 held at the Gateway Hotel in Surigao City conducted by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB)-Caraga in coordination with the National Wage and Productivity Commission (NWPC) and DOLE Surigao del Norte Province.
At least 41 participants of the different establishments from the said sectors participated in the seminar. The activity aimed to (1) assist the establishments to improve their productivity by managing the “Waste Reduction” inside the management in terms of Transportation, Inventory, Motion, Waiting, Overproduction, Over-processing, Defects, & Skills (TIMWOODS); (2) educate owners and workers on cost-cutting and how to reduce losses; (3) understand the LEAN MANAGEMENT principles, tools, techniques and planning for improvement and (4) understand the importance of creating more value for the customers while minimizing resources and eliminate different types of waste which will help improve the enterprise productivity.
