National Skills Registration Program (NSRP) Regional Assessment and Validation Exercises was successfully conducted by Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Caraga on August 28, 2019 at Watergate Hotel, Butuan City.

The activity served as an avenue for the improvement of the NSRP implementation in Caraga along with the 3 batches of PESO implementers from the five (5) provinces of the region and the continuing support of the DOLE-Provincial Offices.

The assessment is based on these indicators; new registered applicants by gender, employment status, registered establishments and vacancies solicited. The reports were generated from PEIS’s database wherein all LGUs, JPOs and Provincial-LGUs in the entire Caraga have their respective accounts to entry the profile of applicants and establishments in their area.

The database shows that from January to August 15, 2019, there are 13,037 new registrants, 419 registered establishments, and 3,086 vacancies solicited. The Province of Agusan del Sur has the highest number of registered applicants of 4,418, and LGU-Butuan City is the leading LGU based on the encoded data of 3,125 new registrants.

NSRP aims to create a readily available (IT-based) database that will help address the country’s growing problem on talent mismatch. Potential employers are given assurance that the skills registered in the database are updated and only those who are actively searching for employment are shown. This will help expedite the selection and hiring process for employers. Further, because of the monthly and quarterly reporting mechanism of the project, DOLE and PESO are certain that the registrants are easy to contact for an interview by potential employers.
