Agusan del Sur—In line with the continuous implementation of the Jobstart Program Philippines in Agusan del Sur , the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Caraga in collaboration with Public Employment Service Office-Agusan del Sur (PESO-ADS) and Province of Agusan del Sur conducted  series of activities that  promotes the program and capacitate the future partner employers. Among these activities is the most recent Training Plan Development Writeshop held at HGC Tourist Inn, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur on July 25.

The Writeshop was participated by representatives from 16 employers in the province namely: VPO MRDC, Sinubong Farms, Agusan del Sur Electric Cooperative, RoIm Builders, Sarnimian Inland Resort, LM Construction/SMB Construction, Sunrise Corn Coffee, McDonalds SFADS, Hillsview Trento, Pidol Miki Factory, BGMC, SAFRAGEMC, Cleo’s Food Products, Monique Miracle Fruit, Solomon Agrivet and HGC Tourist Inn.

The briefing and orientation of employees was conducted for the employers to specify the set of skills and competencies to be acquired by the JobStart trainee from technical training to internship period. Other specific topics discussed were: the training curriculum or modules to be used, training schedule, venue, facilities, cost, as well as the training’s monitoring and evaluation framework. More importantly, employees to resolve their issues and concerns in relation to the partnership processes and their engagement and documentary requirements were discussed.

Senior Labor and Employment Officer and Jobstart Focal Ms. Lilian Solis reoriented the participants on the Jobstart Philippines Program and Employers’ Briefer with refresher topics on the rationale, objectives, mechanics and processes involved in the program.

Meanwhile, Ms. Marithe Kyla Sena of Bureau of Local Employment-Jobstart Project Coordinator provided the discussion on the Memorandum of Agreement as well as the Requirements and Processing of Tranches 1 and 2 to guide the participants on the writeshop they are about to undertake.

TESDA-ADS Provincial Director Engr. Braulio dela Pena, Jr. discussed the Training Regulation of TESDA which should be in line with the Training Plan of the Jobstart future employers. Also, part of the workshop were break-away sessions in which the industries were grouped according to the category they belong such as: Hotel Services and Eco-Tourism, Wholesale and Retail, Construction, Agriculture and Food Industry.
