May 1, 2018 marks the 116th labor day celebration of the Department of Labor and Employment and DOLE Caraga joins the celebration simultaneously done all throughout the 17 regions in the country.

For DOLE Caraga the celebration will be held at the Oazis Hotel in JC Aquino Ave., Butuan City from 8am to 5pm.

Highlights of the said event include the Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) fair in coordination with the Department of Trade and Industry, as well as the DOLE-attached agencies such as the NLRC, NCMB, OWWA, POEA, ECC (Employees Compensation Commission), PRC (Professional Regulations Commission), OSHC (Occupational Safety and Health Center) and the NRCO (National Reintegration Center for OFWs). Services offered by the aforementioned agencies will be readily available to workers and the public in general.  These include employment and business counselling, processing of documents and selected services as well as answering queries. Also, there will be an awarding of recognition to Labor Unions particularly the workers and Livelihood Releases. It may be noted that as of April 10, 2018, DOLE Caraga has already given around 804T for 25 beneficiaries of livelihood/ Kabuhayan assistance.

Likewise, a One-Stop Service Center for the jobseekers will be readily available in the venue in coordination with the different agencies such as SSS, HDMF, PHIC, NBI and PSA. Orientation Briefing for those who wants to avail of DOLE services such as livelihood assistance, etc. will be held. A Skills Demonstration cared of TESDA as well as games, Larong Pinoy for the Informal sector and ITCs will also be offered.

The celebration will start with a church mass to be held at the St. Joseph Cathedral, to be followed by a motorcade onward to the job and business fair/ TNK at the Oazis Hotel.

Moreover, as part of the celebration, a press conference in coordination with the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) will be held on April 30, a day ahead of the May 1 Labor Day celebration at the Oazis Hotel located at JC Aquino Avenue, Butuan City.
