The Department of Labor and Employment Surigao del Norte Field Office (DOLE SDNFO) conducted an orientation on Republic Act No. 10361 or the Domestic Workers Act/ Batas Kasambahay to three (3) baranggays of Bucas Grande Socorro, Surigao del Norte on May 19, 2022.

On May 17, 2022, the Department of Labor and Employment Agusan del Norte Field Office (ADNFO) released P927,305.00 worth of livelihood assistance to thirty-one parents/guardians of profiled child laborers through the local government of Brgy. Bobon, Butuan City as accredited co-partner.

As the country is slowly recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Labor and Employment Agusan del Sur Field Office (DOLE ADSFO) did not cease to provide assistance to displaced and affected workers of Agusan del Sur.

The Department of Labor and Employment Agusan del Norte Field Office (DOLE ADNFO) conducted a back-to-back TUPAD Payout last May 5-7, 2022, releasing P13,752,000 as wages of the 2,232 TUPAD beneficiaries from the nine barangays of Tubay, Agusan del Norte and 633 TUPAD beneficiaries from the twenty-five barangays in Butuan City.

In a span of two weeks, from April 25 to May 6, 2022, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Province of Dinagat Islands Satellite Office celebrated the 120th Labor Day by conducting TUPAD Payouts and livelihood turnovers in the different municipalities in the province. A total of four million three hundred sixteen thousand and six hundred twenty pesos (Php 4,316,620.00) was awarded to one thousand one hundred and eighty-nine beneficiaries (1,189).

A total of P133,805,774 was rolled out by the Department of Labor and Employment Surigao del Norte Field Office (DOLE SDN) to Congressional Districts 1 & 2 (Siargao & Mainland) as salaries for SDN's displaced workers caused by the recent Super Typhoon Odette.

The Department of Labor and Employment Surigao del Norte Field Office (DOLE SDNFO) rolled out a Serbisyo Caravan in celebration of the 120th Labor Day last May 1, 2021. The event was conducted in Surigao City and Siargao Islands, with the participation of the workers and families affected by Super Typhoon Odette, together with several DOLE SDN partner agencies, PESO Managers, private establishments, and selected beneficiaries of DOLE frontline services in the province.

Last April 28, 2022, the Department of Labor and Employment Caraga together with the Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC) Caraga-Regional Extension Unit awarded safety seal certificates to five establishments to commemorate this year’s World Day for Safety and Health at Work.

Of the 520 registered job applicants, 161 were Hired-On-the-Spot (HOTS) during the Department of Labor and Employment Caraga’s 2022 Labor Day TNK Job and Business Fairs recently held at Robinsons Place Butuan.

Anchored on the theme "Matatag na Manggagawa, Matatag na Bansa", the Department of Labor and Employment in Caraga region successfully held the 2022 Trabaho, Negosyo & Kabuhayan (TNK) Job and Business Fair in celebration of the May 1, 2022 Labor Day.

As part of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) mandate to ensure the well being of workers and provide equal employment opportunities, DOLE Surigao del Norte Field Office (DOLE SDNFO) continues to intensify the implementation of the Family Welfare Program (FWP) and Gender and Development in business establishments in the province.

With the theme “Agenda ng Kababaihan, Tungo sa Kaunlaran“, DOLE Surigao del Norte (SDN) Field Office joined the 2022 National Women’s Month Celebration through fitness and health activities participated by employees and clients.

The night glittered and shined last March 25, 2022 at Watergate, Butuan City, as DOLE Caraga held its 2021 Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence or PRAISE in recognition of the hard-work and exemplary performance of DOLE Caraga’s employees and field offices.

Butuan City – DOLE CARAGA successfully conducted the 2021 Public Employment Service Office – Year-End Performance Assessment at Almont Inland Hotel last March 23-24, 2022.

The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board – Caraga (RTWPB Caraga) in collaboration with DOLE Surigao del Norte Field Office successfully facilitated the “Usapang 2Ps: Produktibo at Pasahod, Discussion on Law on Termination and Training on 7s for Good Housekeeping Practices” on March 23, 2022, at Philippine Gateway Hotel, Surigao City.

DOLE Caraga’s WODP Scholars Graduate Amidst Pandemic

It has been almost two months since the devastation of Super Typhoon Odette has caused a lot of Dinagatnons to lose their homes. Amongst the heavily affected were the personnel of the Department of Labor and Employment Province of Dinagat Islands Satellite Office (DOLE PDISO).

Amid the ongoing pandemic, the department has immediately allocated funds through the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantages/Displace Workers (TUPAD) to provide relief after the devastation caused by Super Typhoon Odette to hard-hit stricken provinces. One of which is the Province of Dinagat Islands.

The DOLE family demonstrated the spirit of “Bayanihan” (teamwork) by helping its personnel from DOLE Surigao del Norte Province Office and DOLE Province of Dinagat Islands Satellite Office after typhoon Odette hit both provinces last December 16, 2021.

7,030 typhoon Odette victims in the province of Surigao del Norte are provided with emergency employment through Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantages/ Displace Workers (TUPAD). Each worker received P 3,200.00 for a 10-day work which covers house cleaning, rebuilding homes, road cleaning, and de-clogging of canals with the total financial assistance of P 23 Million.

The Department of Labor and Employment has released over 34.2 million cash aid assistance under TUPAD Program from December 21, 2021 to January 7, 2022 to the informal workers affected by Typhoon Odette in the region.

As part of the 88th Founding Anniversary of the Department of Labor and Employment, the DOLE Province of Dinagat Islands Satellite Office has conducted the Project Angel Tree 2021. The Project Angel Tree, a component of the DOLE Child Labor Prevention and Elimination Program, provides an array of social services that range from food, clothing, educational assistance or school supplies, and even work and training opportunities made available by sponsors or benefactors (‘angels’) to child laborers and their families. It aims to improve the economic and social conditions of child laborers and their families and increase the number of allies and advocates of child labor prevention and elimination.

DOLE-Agusan del Sur Provincial Office facilitated the release of livelihood assistance check to Afga Diversified Farmers Association in Sibagat and Samaritan Settlers Association of Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur last December 7, 2021 as part of the celebration of the 88th anniversary of the Department benefitting 133 beneficiaries. The associations were granted a total amount of 2 million pesos for their projects entitled Farm Tractor Rental Services and Abaca Fiber Production.

November 19, 2021 (DOLE Agusan del Sur Provincial Office)- 49 former workers of JB Earthmovers Inc. were compensated with a total of Php 1,495,731.09 monetary benefits through agency’s Single Entry Approach (SEnA) program.

November 02, 2021 (Surigao del Norte)- Fifty (50) pioneer Jobstarters will participate Technical Training to be faciltated by the Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA) from November 3, 2021 to December 2, 2021.

Seven (7) displaced workers of a beverage warehouse company in Butuan City successfully received their final pay claims through the intervention of DOLE – Agusan del Norte Provincial Office under the DOLE Single Entry Approach (SENA) program.

October 12, 2021 – 100 youths recently completed the 10-day Life Skills Training (LST), a component of the JobStart Philippines program of the Department of Labor and Employment. The graduates received their certificates during the completion ceremony held on 12 October 2021 in Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.

October 8, 2021 – Fifty seven (57) Home-based Workers benefited from DOLE Caraga’s financial assistance amounting to P800,000.00 for the establishment of Fitness, Sports Training and Development Gym in Magallanes, Agusan del Norte.

October 5, 2021 – Over a thousand informal sector and displaced workers received financial assistance from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in Caraga region during the visit of Labor Secretary Silvestre “Bebot” H. Bello III.
