Top3: DOLE Caraga aces Infographics Display Contests

Butuan City— The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Caraga aced to top three in the Infographics Display Contest during the celebration of the 29th National Statistics Month hosted by the Philippine Statistics Authority in coordination with the Department of Tourism Caraga Region at South Atrium Robinsons Place Butuan on October 2. DOLE Regional IT Staff, Mr. Mechelle P. Molato who represented DOLE pave way for his triumph in the said contest.

Mr. Molato featured the 2017 Local Employment Profile of Caraga region in his infographics display in which the statistics were culled-out from the PESO Employment Information System. The infographics of DOLE Caraga was fit to the celebration’s theme: Exploring Philippine Wonders in Numbers: Statistics Towards Sustainable Tourism Development. According to Mr. Molato, his minimalist design became advantageous for the visual appeal of the infographics while the accuracy of its contents contributed to the victory of the entry.

Among the participants under the regional line agencies were the Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Transportation (DOTr), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and Philippine Ports Authority. The Caraga State University (CSU), and Saint Michael College of Caraga were the participants under the academe category while the Local Government of Butuan for the Local Government Unit Category.

In her speech during the opening ceremonies, the National Economic and Development Authority regional head, Mylah Faye Aurora Carino emphasized the significance of tourism statistics in the identification havens in the region, and the empirical data are helpful bases for the management of these measures. The infographics display contest aims to feature different agencies and institutions’ statistical data as well as to ensure the accurate and reliable data be accessible to the general public.
