LGU Tubod-SDN holds DOLE Clinic and Job Fair

A one-day DOLE Clinic cum Job Fair was instituted by the Department of Labor and Employment- Surigao del Norte Field Office in cooperation with the Local Government of Tubod today, August 18, 2017 to provide assistance to all displaced workers in the municipality brought about by the temporary shutdown of the Greenstone Resources Corporation’s mining operation.

“Ang DOLE Clinic abli alang sa tanan nga gusto mangita ug trabaho, mangita ug assistance. DOLE Clinic tungod kay kung aduna kamoy pangutan nga legal sa inyong panarbaho hinaot unta nga mahatagan ug alibyo.”, TSSD Chief Mr. Herminigildo L. Daytoc said.

“I am hoping nga daghan taga Tubod ang matagaan ug trabaho kay lisod ang development sa isa ka munisipyo kung ang iya mga tawo walay mga trabaho. The indication of a developed municipality is that the people has sustainable lifestyle, and the number one need of the people is the employment, and I am so happy that DOLE is here to assist us now.”, as emphasized by Mayor Richelle B. Romarate of LGU Tubod, Surigao del Norte.

The participating agencies are PAG-IBIG Fund Surigao Branch and the 30IB (Pyhton) Battalion for the government sector. They are assisting clients on the Emergency Loan for the PAG-IBIG and information on how to inter the Philippine Army respectively.

For the local recruiters participating agencies are the A. T. Dumlao Construction, Inc., Gaisano Capital Surigao, Bachelor Express Inc. and Equiparco Construction Company and one overseas recruitment agency, the Jenerick International Manpower Inc. These employers brought a total of 1,980 job orders for all displaced workers and jobseekers to avail.

Ms. Romelyn B. Bactol also conducted orientation on how to avail the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) to the members of the Greenstone Resources Corporation Labor Union- KMU. Their 146 members would like to avail financial assistance to DOLE for the grocery and water refilling business plan.

Ms. May C. Velonta and Mr. Herminigido L. Daytoc facilitated all the OFW related concerns and legal matters on employment. A total of 24 former OFWs who want to avail the OWWA services, thus summary list of concerned individuals will be forwarded to OWWA for possible assistance. Also, DOLE-SDN released a total of Php 166,320.00 salary for 63 Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) beneficiaries of LGU Tubod.

Ivic John Damule, one of the SPES beneficiaries of Tubod expresses his gratefulness upon receiving his 40% salary it can help in his studies and he would love to buy a simple gift for his mother who is celebrating her birthday this August 26, 2017.

A total of 154 clients attended the DOLE Clinic, with 50 displaced workers facilitated on their concerns while 85 applicants were interviewed during the job fair. DOLE-SDN will be providing another assistance to displaced workers by providing emergency employment.

DOLE RCC Clinic is one of the mechanisms to bring closer to the community all the programs and services of the Department. Where in clients or the general public may avail the pre-employment facilitations, labor standards enforcement, livelihood kabuhayan orientation for the DILEEP, education and communications materials of the different programs of the RCC members and other employment related concerns. ©DOLESDNFO
