DOLE Surigao del Norte holds

Labor Management Education

 

 

The Department of Labor and Employment Surigao del Norte Provincial Office in coordination with the Local Government Unit in Claver, conducted a one-day seminar on Labor- Management Education on Employment Relations to 70 participants last June 16, 2017 at 3rd Floor Municipal Gymnasium, Brgy. Tayaga, Claver, Surigao del Norte.

 

The participants were both employers and employees of MSME’s from different municipalities including Bacuag, Gigaguit and Claver. Some employees in LGU-Claver and PESO managers in Claver and Gigaquit also participated the said activity.

 

 

 

The seminar aims to educate and increase awareness of the participants on the new labor standards assessment procedure and voluntary compliance of the employers, rights and privileges both employers and workers and to give updates in dealing with the current situation on employment. 

 

LGU-Claver Hon. Eddie P. Gokiangkee on behalf of his PESO Manager Mr. Junrey Escobal and DOLESDNFO personnel assisted the activity. Also, Ms. May C. Velonta, OIC/Provincial Head, Sr. LEO officer Ms. Romelyn B. Bactol and LEO III Ms. Felibeth C. Bonono put into words about the versatile topics that they extended to the participants such as Labor Laws Compliance System module Updates on Endo/Contractualization, General Labor Standards, Kasambahay Law, Importance of Rule 1020 Registration of Establishment and the new law D.O 170 (Anti-age Discrimination in Employment Act).

 

 

Attorney IV from the Regional Tripartite Wages Productivity Board Mr. Cornelius B. Mahinay, also attended as one of the guest speakers and discussed about the Productivity. Knowing the productivity levels between the employers to employees will help to figure out how to keep and how to let go. 

 

 

The program has become an effective for every employer of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to manage the risky and also to create awareness about the employment rules and regulations to the employees. ©
