Labor-Management Education and Employment Relations Seminar was conducted by Department of Labor and Employment last October 25, 2016 at Sheilah’s Restaurant, Mangagoy, Bislig City. This is in partnership with Department of Trade and Industry in celebration of Consumer Month. It was attended by thirty one (31) participants both workers and employers representing 17 establishments from Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
The modules presented were the following: Labor Relations, Labor Standards, Human Relation and the Introduction of Productivity. It aimed to inculcate and increase awareness of the participants on the new labor standards assessment procedure and voluntary compliance of the employers, rights and privileges both employers and workers and to give updates on dealing with the current situation of employment.
The participants expressed their interests on the various topics discussed especially the issue on “contractualization” and the effects of a successful implementation of 5S methodology. This is a meaningful event not just for the participants but also to DOLE SDS Field Office because they are able to impart knowledge and expertise that can make a good difference.
